The new VW Caddy Cargo is now available for finance and cash sales. This the 5th generation of this fantastic small van from Volkswagen, and they’ve continued to improve it with new looks and new technology.
VW Caddy Trim Versions
With this new generation of the Caddy, VW changed the naming of the available trims. There’s no more Startline and Highline; currently, the German manufacturer offers three versions: the entry-level Caddy Cargo Commerce, the mid-level Caddy Cargo Commerce Plus, and the top-level Caddy Cargo Commerce Pro. There’s also the new Caddy Cargo Maxi — a long-wheelbase version — and that’s also available in the three trim levels.

Engines and Drivetrain
The Caddy Cargo is available with a diesel or petrol engine. The 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine comes in three power output options: 75hp, 102hp, and 122hp. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine is offered in 114hp. All models are fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox, but the 122hp diesel and the petrol engine also have the option of a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission instead. The Caddy Cargo is front-wheel drive (FWD) as standard, but if you need VW’s AWD 4Motion system, you’ll be wanting to look at the 122hp diesel. And of course, the three diesel models are all equipped with an AdBlue tank to help reduce their dangerous nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.
Caddy Cargo Maxi
Finally, we come to the Caddy Cargo Maxi: the long-wheelbase version of the Caddy Cargo. With wider, twin rear sliding doors, a load volume of 3.7m3, and its extra length, the Maxi gives you the extra space and flexibility you need. It can even take two Euro-3 pallets.
