Performance and Power Ford Transit Custom MSRT

The Ford Transit Custom MSRT delivers an impressive blend of power and performance, catering to a wide range of driving needs. This versatile vehicle offers multiple engine options, transmission choices, and enhanced handling capabilities, making it a standout in its class.

Engine Options

The Transit Custom MSRT boasts a variety of powertrains to suit different preferences and requirements. The 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine stands out as a popular choice, available in two power outputs:

1. 170 PS version with an eight-speed automatic gearbox
2. 150 PS variant paired with a six-speed manual transmission

For those seeking eco-friendly alternatives, Ford offers two additional options:

1. A battery electric E-Transit Custom MS-RT model with a powerful 210 kW (285 PS) e-motor
2. A 232 PS plug-in hybrid variant featuring a 2.5-liter petrol engine and an 11.8 kWh battery

The electric model, in particular, boasts the highest power output of any Transit Custom to date, providing smooth and highly responsive performance.

Transmission Choices

The Transit Custom MSRT offers flexibility in transmission options to complement its engine lineup:

1. Eight-speed automatic gearbox (available with the 170 PS diesel engine)
2. Six-speed manual transmission (paired with the 150 PS diesel engine)

The automatic transmission provides seamless gear changes, enhancing the driving experience, especially in urban environments. On the other hand, the manual gearbox offers a more engaging drive with its short, positive action that feels anything but truck-like. Its lever placement close to the steering wheel allows for swift changes, contributing to the van's surprisingly nifty performance.

Handling and Driving Experience

The Transit Custom MSRT builds upon Ford's reputation for delivering sharp-handling vans. The MS-RT version takes this a step further with its enhanced suspension setup. Key improvements include:

1. Lowered rear suspension, reducing body roll in corners
2. Improved cornering composure without compromising ride comfort
3. Enhanced stability, allowing for more confident driving at higher speeds

These enhancements result in a driving experience that's more akin to a performance car than a traditional van. The vehicle's handling precision and stability through corners have been notably improved, making it easier to maneuver in various driving conditions. The power delivery is smooth and characterized by a keen rush of torque from low rpm, which helps the Custom get moving quickly. This responsiveness, combined with the improved suspension, creates a driving experience that's both enjoyable and practical. It's worth noting that while the MS-RT version doesn't offer power upgrades over the standard model, the 170 PS and 405 Nm of torque provided by the top-tier diesel engine are more than sufficient for most driving scenarios. The vehicle's performance is further enhanced by its aerodynamic design elements, which not only improve its esthetics but also contribute to its overall efficiency and stability at higher speeds.

Versatility Meets Style
